Tips for better Aging: Check your posture.

Have you heard the saying, “There is no second chance for a first-time impression?”Well, your posture has a great deal to do with it.

A great posture will open many doors by improving your non-verbal communication. When passing information, you will choose your words carefully; why not ensure your body is on the same page.

A good posture will also help avoid many pains usually associated with the aging process. Let us see some very common examples:

    • Sore neck and upper back are usually a result of a slouched posture.bad posture
    • Conversely, pain in your knees and lower back results from an arched posture.

These positions will also significantly impact your balance(critical variable as we age) and your chances of suffering an accident or a fall.

So:

Step #1, Diagnose your posture:

Check your posture randomly during the day, while seated, standing, walking, or doing any other activities within your daily routine.

Just observe, don’t judge, don’t get mad or overwhelmed. You will notice that the simple fact of bringing awareness to your posture will do a lot to improve it.

Step #2 Improve your posture.

After a week or so of observing your posture, you have probably determined your habits and what you will like to change. This is a mental game of constant reminder; now, we must create a new habitual posture.

But it is also a physical game, where you must stretch and strengthen the correct muscles to get the desired result and make it easy for your body.

Here I leave you with some routines specially designed to help you attain a better posture. All dance-inspired because “Why make it easy if you can make it fun.”
